Alfred Döblin is known to the English-reading world, if at all, for only one of his many works: the big-city epic Berlin Alexanderplatz. With a new translation of THAT book appearing in 2018, this is a good moment to introduce Alfred Döblin’s OTHER major works – Beyond Alexanderplatz – in English!
